Director of Life Enrichment

Department: Activities
Location: New Carlisle, IN

Scope of Responsibility: To provide a meaningful and intentional life enriching activities program for all campus residents.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, develop, organize, evaluate, and implement the activity program for healthcare, assisted living, and independent living.
  • Supervises the Activity Department and team members.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of all activity assessments and required care plans.
  • Responsible for the activity assessment/compilation of the MDS as assigned by the MDS Coordinator.
  • Manage volunteer program and act as volunteer coordinator.
  • Ensure one to one and group programming are conducted and meet resident needs in healthcare and Assisted Living.

Position Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • High School graduate with some college and Indiana Activities certification required.
  • Two to three years of experience in a long-term care activities program preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the MDS/Care planning process preferred

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to use computer, Copy Machine, Fax, Calculator, other business, communication and/or activity program devices.
  • Coordination of manual dexterity as well as manual and visual attention
  • The ability to be creative in order to meet resident needs and to provide meaningful experiences on a daily basis.
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
