Nurse Assistant – Part-Time Days | Assisted Living

Walnut Hills | Greencroft Communities
Walnut Creek, OH
Pay: $14.38–$18.36/hour

A Great First Step Toward a Career in Healthcare

No CNA certification required. No previous healthcare experience required.

If you've ever thought about working in healthcare but weren't sure where to start, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Walnut Hills is seeking a Part-time Nurse Assistant to join our Assisted Living team. This is a non-certified entry-level position that gives you the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience caring for older adults while learning from experienced nurses, CNAs, and other caregivers.

You don't need to arrive with a healthcare background. What matters most is that you're dependable, compassionate, willing to learn, and genuinely interested in helping others.

Why This Is a Great Entry-Level Healthcare Opportunity

Starting as a Nurse Assistant can help you:

  • Get hands-on experience in a healthcare and senior living environment.
  • Learn directly from experienced caregivers and nurses.
  • Develop valuable patientcare and communication skills.
  • Build a strong foundation for future healthcare education or career opportunities.
  • Discover whether working in healthcare is the right fit for you.
  • Make a meaningful difference in residents' lives from day one.

This is not a certified nursing assistant (CNA) position, and CNA certification is not required to apply.

What You'll Do

As a Nurse Assistant, you'll provide day-to-day support to residents while helping create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Helping residents with activities of daily living and personal care needs.
  • Supporting residents while encouraging independence and maintaining dignity.
  • Building positive relationships with residents and their families.
  • Working alongside CNAs, nurses, and other members of the care team.
  • Observing residents and reporting changes or concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Helping maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
  • Following established care and safety procedures.
  • Providing compassionate support throughout each shift.

What We're Looking For

You don't need healthcare experience to be successful in this role.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is dependable and willing to learn.
  • Treats older adults with kindness, patience, and respect.
  • Works well with a team.
  • Communicates effectively with residents, families, and coworkers.
  • Brings a positive and cheerful attitude to work.
  • Understands the importance of dignity, privacy, and independence.
  • Is comfortable learning new skills and taking direction from experienced team members.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but the most important qualification is a genuine desire to help others.

What You'll Gain

Whether you're exploring healthcare for the first time, considering becoming a CNA, or simply looking for meaningful work with people, this position can provide a valuable starting point.

You'll gain practical experience, develop caregiving skills, and learn what it takes to be part of a professional senior care team while making a difference in the lives of the residents we serve.

What We Offer

  • Part-time day-shift schedule
  • Competitive pay: $14.38–$18.36/hour
  • Supportive leadership
  • Team-oriented workplace
  • Resident-focused care environment
  • Meaningful relationships with residents and families
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Voluntary life insurance
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
  • Paid time off (PTO)
