Maintenance Technician

About Us:

Golden Years Homestead (GYH) is a community committed to quality, compassion, and service. Our campus provides skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living services in a mission-driven environment focused on serving the needs of older adults. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated facilities team.

Position Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and fully operational environment across the GYH campus. This includes performing a wide range of maintenance tasks such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, floor care, and general building upkeep. Your work will directly impact the quality of life for our residents and the efficiency of campus operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures.
  • Clean carpets, strip/wax floors, and paint residential and common areas.
  • Ensure all exterior landscaping, snow removal, and groundskeeping meet campus standards.
  • Maintain inventory and distribute supplies throughout the campus.
  • Work alongside contractors and communicate updates to GYH leadership.
  • Assist with resident transportation and equipment moving when needed.
  • Follow all OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety in all areas.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and general maintenance systems.
  • Preferred: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical certifications.
  • Comfortable using standard maintenance tools, equipment, and communication devices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, and standing.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures.
