Maintenance Lead I

Department: Maintenance
Location: Goshen, IN

Scope of Responsibility: Maintenance of buildings and equipment as well as other tasks required for physical plant operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete work orders for structural, electrical, plumbing and HVAC in a timely and code-compliant manner.
  • Communicate with staff and residents to maintain a good working relationship.
  • Answer intercepts, lockouts and 911 calls.
  • Order and restock supplies in shop.
  • Work on apartment turnovers such as small plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
  • Preventative Maintenance Program completion for areas assigned.
  • Drive golf carts between facilities and service center to pick up supplies.
  • Weekends and evenings on-call per established rotational schedule.
  • Small project completion in assigned areas.
  • Repairs to larger equipment in assigned areas.
  • Work in a safe manner consistent with the training and requirements for the Maintenance department including lifting, ladders, electrical, lock out-tag out, personal protective devices, MSDS sheets and confined spaces.
  • Understand and follow the code requirements for the areas of assigned work.

Secondary Functions:

  • Perform snow removal during the winter.
  • Assist with special events set up and tear down.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One to three years general maintenance experience preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry work.
  • Ability to drive a golf cart.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to work without close supervision while maintaining Greencroft Maintenance Department standards of conduct and job performance.

Schedule:

Monday thru Friday, days
